There are differences between the high pressure and low pressure systems which should be carefully considered before making a final decision whether to use the high pressure AquaLastic® or the low pressure ALPS.
High Pressure System
Many concrete repair formulas are water-based and don’t stand up to the test of time. This is due to voids left as the water evaporates where water can seep back in. As the water freezes and unthaws with cold weather, the product breaks down over time. The AquaLastic® high-pressure system is a polyurethane-based solution providing long-lasting repair to concrete. The high-pressure system application can only be performed by a certified applicator.
Low Pressure System
The AquaLastic® Low Pressure System (ALPS) is a new opportunity to protect and repair irrigation infrastructure with a state-of-the-art compact equipment package that enables the irrigation district or company to carry out its own repairs, rather than bringing in a professional application crew. It is recommended for many different types of application from small to larger repair areas and is highly mobile and versatile. It is ideal for areas where access by vehicles is difficult.
The ALPS applies a product called AquaLastic® LP at a lower pressure and lower heat than AquaLastic® and applied by professional applicators with their own highly specialized equipment.
The ALPS is highly affordable to purchase. It is easy to operate and maintain and two days of on-site training are required with each ALPS purchase. Irrigation Districts that have purchased an ALPS have reported successful repairs and cost savings.
